Who Are We?

What’s the difference between 704 Studios and 704 Records?

704 Studios is our professional recording studio in Aalsmeer where artists can book recording sessions, mixing, mastering, music production, and other creative services.

704 Records is the creative collective behind the studio. It brings together artists, producers, engineers, and creatives who collaborate on music, content, and long-term artist development.

Most artists first work with us through 704 Studios. Over time, some may become part of the 704 Records collective through consistent collaboration and shared goals.

Who is James 704?

I’m James Allen, founder and lead engineer of 704 Studios and creator of 704 Records.

I’m 32 years old and have been building the 704 brand since 2017. Over the years, I’ve worked on 300+ music projects, collaborating with both upcoming and established artists from the Netherlands and abroad.

My goal is simple: help artists create music they’re proud of in a professional, comfortable, and transparent environment.

Where is the studio located?

704 Studios is based in Aalsmeer, just outside Amsterdam. We regularly work with artists from Amsterdam, Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Amstelveen, and across the Netherlands.

Pricing

How much does a recording session cost?

Studio rental is €35 per hour (incl. VAT).

If you need a recording engineer, this is an additional €15 per hour.

Most artists book both, making the total:

Studio + Engineer = €50 per hour

A minimum booking of 2 hours applies.

Recording Session Price Guide

Is a deposit required?

Yes.

To secure your booking, a deposit is required.

Deposit structure:

• 3–4 hour booking → 1 hour deposit

• 5–6 hour booking → 2 hour deposit

• 7–8 hour booking → 3 hour deposit

Bookings are only confirmed once the deposit has been received.

What happens if I cancel or don’t show up?

Deposits are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation or no-show.

This allows us to reserve studio time and compensate for lost booking opportunities.

What about larger projects?

Projects above €1,000 require a 50% deposit before work begins.

If a project is cancelled, up to 50% of the deposit may be refunded depending on the amount of preparation and work already completed. A minimum of 25% of the total project value remains non-refundable.

Do you charge extra for last-minute bookings?

Yes.

Bookings made on the same day are subject to a 15% rush booking fee due to schedule adjustments and short-notice preparation.

How much does mixing and mastering cost?

Mixing and mastering starts at €150 per song and includes up to 2 revisions.

Recording Sessions

What’s included in a recording session?

A standard recording session includes access to the studio, professional recording equipment, and a comfortable creative environment.

If you book a recording engineer, we’ll help with recording, session setup, workflow, and getting the best possible performance during your session.

I’ve never recorded before. Can I still book?

Absolutely.

Many of our clients are recording for the first time. We’ll guide you through the process and help you get the best out of your session.

Is there anything you don’t record?

The only service we currently don’t offer is recording a full live drum kit.

Apart from that, we’re equipped to handle most recording, vocal, instrumental, production, and creative projects.

What should I bring to my session?

We recommend bringing:

• Your beat or instrumental

• Lyrics or notes

• Reference tracks (optional)

• Snacks or drinks for longer sessions

How long does it take to record a song?

Every artist and song is different, but most songs can be recorded within 1–3 hours.

The better prepared you are, the more you’ll get done during your session.

Will I receive my files after the session?

Yes.

After payment, you’ll receive your session files and a demo mix.

Mixing & Mastering

Do you offer mixing and mastering?

Yes.

We provide professional mixing and mastering services to help artists achieve a polished, release-ready sound.

Can I send my tracks online?

Absolutely.

We work with artists worldwide and can complete projects entirely remotely.

Artist Development

Can you help me develop as an artist?

Definitely.

Beyond recording, we provide feedback on songs, performance, branding, content creation, release strategy, and overall artist development.

Our goal isn’t just to record your music—it’s to help you grow as an artist.

Do you work with established artists?

Yes.

Over the years we’ve worked with both emerging and established artists. Every artist receives the same level of professionalism, respect, and dedication.

704 Records is the creative collective behind 704 Studios.

It brings together artists, producers, engineers, and creatives who share a passion for music and long-term growth.

How do I join 704 Records?

There is no application form or membership fee.

We generally only consider artists who have built a strong working relationship with us through 704 Studios. As a guideline, artists will typically have completed 10+ songs with us before being considered for the collective.

This gives us time to understand your talent, consistency, motivation, professionalism, and work ethic.

We’re looking for artists who are serious about their craft and committed to long-term growth.

How do I book a session?

Is parking available?

Yes. It is free.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No.

All sessions are by appointment only.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time.
