The Place I Call Home is a compelling film autobiography that follows filmmaker Amar Somaroo’s five-year journey to explore the connection between his Indian-Surinamese heritage and the broader global understanding of what “home” truly means. Through thoughtful reflection and intimate storytelling, the film encourages viewers to reconsider identity, belonging, and cultural roots.

We were honoured to work on this meaningful project as the mixing and mastering studio, collaborating closely with Paranoyz Music to craft the film’s emotional and immersive soundscape. It was an inspiring and truly enjoyable experience.

The documentary was also recognized internationally, receiving Official Selection status at both the The Hague Roots Film Festival 2022 and the Amsterdam Lift-Off Film Festival 2022—a proud milestone for everyone involved.

The film was officially released on December 17th, 2022, marking a significant moment for the entire team.
